F1: Manor pilots prefer a dry track to debut

The start of the Formula 1 World Championship wet was not the best news for the new Manor team riders. Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto not have enough experience to adjust the car to conditions which have not yet flown in Albert Park and this can be a problem for the team Manor. Both drivers have been those who have more rolled smoothly and wanted better conditions.

Pascal says the goal was to shoot the maximum today and try to squeeze a little to test a package of improvements the team has brought to Australia. Pascal finished 12th in the second free practice session.

"They have not been the best weather conditions to start the first day of my debut season but has been a good start I think. The main objective was to shoot as much as possible, regardless of the track conditions, and that is what we have done "

"Even with the dry track it is difficult to compare with other teams, but I could push a little and study the package of improvements we have here in Melbourne. I am happy and now I look forward to preparing for my first qualifying. Thanks to the team for that good first day, "said Pascal.
Meanwhile Rio Haryanto had never ridden in wet with a Formula 1, still claims to have had a nice experience and hopes that the next day the weather improves.

"I had never driven an F1 car in the rain and the fact that a day like today can frustrate you, it was great experience this situation as soon. Clearly it would have been great to have running dry track today to prepare the rest of the weekend. The next few days are unpredictable but hopefully to weather the worst has passed and can level maximum attack tomorrow, "said Haryanto.
The sporting director, Dave Ryan praises the work of its pilots who have not damaged the car and have collected information and check that the car worked.
